Em Duck Fighting , o jogador controla o personagem titular que deve atirar com suas balas nos caranguejos, nos tijolos que eles deixam cair e nas libélulas.
Cada nível começa com oito caranguejos. Os caranguejos agarram os tijolos pelas laterais e tentam jogá-los no pato controlado pelo jogador. É possível atirar nos caranguejos e nos tijolos enquanto eles caem, mas se um tijolo cair no pato, ele morre. Quando um tijolo cair em um local vazio, ele permanecerá no lago por um momento, impedindo que o pato se mova horizontalmente.
Nos níveis dois a quatro, há duas, quatro e seis libélulas, respectivamente, movendo-se juntas logo abaixo dos caranguejos. O jogador recebe dez pontos por atirar nas libélulas, mas isso os deixa furiosos. Quando estão com raiva, eles soltam uma, duas ou três bombas (dependendo do nível). Se o pato estiver próximo a uma bomba quando ela explodir, ele será morto. O jogo continua até que o jogador fique sem patos, que equivalem a vidas em outros jogos.
